Day Two – Monika

Today was spent preparing for the missions on Friday (in Tatalon) and Saturday (in Kaunlaran).  After a delicious breakfast, we sorted medications and made a shopping list to take to the pharmacy for more!  We unloaded all the donations we brought from the States and separated them for the different sites.  We visited Sta. Mesa Heights UMC, the sponsor of the Tatalon mission site, and church volunteers helped us to separate large bags of rice into smaller bags for distribution to the people.  We packed sardines and soup in the bags and enjoyed fellowship time together as we shared a lunch of menudo, chop suey, and pork chops!  Lance and I even had a chance to sing some hymns with some members of the youth praise band.
After a long day, we went back to Pastor Paul’s house and I got to take a much needed nap.  We took a short trip to Shoe Mart, North Annex (one of the big malls near Pastor’s house) and were able to get local cell phones so we can keep in touch and I can text my cousins in Quezon City!  We had dessert out and headed back to the house to call it a night.

You’ll find some pictures below.  Hope you are all well!  Your prayers are appreciated!
